About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design and development of sophisticated optomechanical systems. You will bridge the gap between optical design and physical implementation, ensuring high-precision performance in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of complex optical assemblies, including lens barrels, mirror mounts, and sensor integrations.
- Perform rigorous Tolerance Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) (structural and thermal) to ensure optical stability and system integrity.
- Develop high-precision motion stages and positioning mechanisms.
- Oversee the transition from prototype to production, implementing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.
- Collaborate closely with Optical, Electrical,Control and Systems Engineers to define requirements and solve multi-disciplinary challenges.
- Manage technical documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs, and assembly procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience specifically in optomechanical system development.
- CAD Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GD&T, precision machining, and optomechanical mounting techniques.
- Analysis Skills: Strong background in thermal management and structural analysis for optical systems.
Preferred Skills (Advantages)
- Experience in Defense, Aerospace, or Semiconductor industries.
- Familiarity with infrared (IR) materials and environmental sealing (IP67/MIL-STD).
- Experience with active alignment processes and optical calibration tools.
- M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
